Venue - how to get there - international arrivals - accommodation options

Our event will take place in Helsinki metropolitan area, in the neighboring city of Espoo at Aalto university main building of the Otaniemi campus. Otaniemi is the heart of Aalto’s technological university with a surrounding hub for science, technology and research. It is located within 20 minute bus ride from downtown Helsinki. The address of the venue is Otakaari 1, Espoo.

In downtown Helsinki buses leave from Kamppi shopping center. There is an underground bus station on the ground floor. Take bus number 102, 102T, 103 or 103T. Use this journey planner for some additional info on schedules etc. .

When you see the building  below you have arrived to the right place. On the left side a few steps away there is an entrance 1M and there you will find our event.

International arrivals

From Helsinki Vantaa international airport it is easy to travel downtown Helsinki by local train or by bus. And from there on by local bus to Otaniemi.

Airport train route is brand new and operates conviniently from an underground station right underneath the airport. The train lines are P and I and it doesn't matter which one you take since it is a ring route and both ways take as long (about 30 minutes) and end up in Helsinki main railway station right in the center of the city, just a few steps from Kamppi where you can take the bus to our event.

It is also possible to take the local bus from the airport. Bus number 615 stops in front of both terminals T1 and T2. There is also a dedicated bus operated by Finnair that takes you directly downtown, bus stop also in front of both terminals. Public bus is cheaper but takes a bit longer, Finnair a bit more expensive but it is an express line.

Helpful tool is again and also national train company web page for local trains Note that in Espoo the local trains operate only in the more northern parts of the city, so please use bus to get to Otaniemi which is in the southern part.

It is also possible to reach Helsinki by ferry from Stockholm, Sweden or Tallinn, Estonia. Stockholm ferries arrive at Eteläsatama (=South harbour). There from Katajanokka terminal you can take tram line 4 or 4T to Kamppi. From Olympia terminal take tram number 2. Tallinn ferries arrive at Länsisatama (=West harbour). From there you can reach Kamppi with tramlines number 6 and 9.

Accommodation options

There are several possibilities for accomodation downtown with varying prices. There are also a few hotels in Otaniemi area within walking distance from our venue.
